France – Taiwan – Japan

This contest is held within the framework of cultural exchanges between Taiwan, Japan and France, and aims to promote acousmatic music and to encourage young composers of this music in Taiwan, Japan and France.

During the 2018-2019 season, the musical compositions of the Final prizewinners will be included in the programmes of several concerts in Paris, Taipei, Nagoya, etc.

The Concours de Composition Acousmatique petites formes 2018 is organised by Tout pour la Musique Contemporaine (France), Nagoya City University (Japan), SMIT and the National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan).

The Concours de Composition Acousmatique petites formes 2018 is open to composers of French, Taiwanese and Japanese nationality, born after 31 December 1977.

The works must be of the genre: electroacoustic acousmatic music on support.

Each composer must submit no more than a single work, of a minimum duration of 5 minutes, and no longer than 10 minutes.

The technical presentation standard for the pieces is exclusively the format: .wav or .aif – 44 KHz 16 bits – stereo

The eviMus Festival and the KuBa – Kulturzentrum am EuroBahnhof present the « 4. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustiche und visuelle Musik » in Saarbrücken (Germany). The eviMus Festival is a four-day Festival focussing on new music in all of its forms. All events are free and open to the public. All composers, regardless of nationality, age or career stage, are invited to apply. Since the number of applications exceeds the places available, there will be a selection process.

The submitted works must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Category A – Fixed media:
Four channel up to eight channel works for fixed media (Format: WAV or AIFF files, stereo works are not going to be considered)

2. Category B – Instrument/electronic:
Solo instrument/voice and fixed media or live electronics (stereo or more channels). The organization will decide if instrumentalists are available. Works for flute and electronic are desired.

3. Category C – Video:
Works for video and music are desired (stereo or more channels)

4. Category D – Installation:
Sound Installations and Interactive Media (composer has to provide all non-standard equipment)

Composers can submit several works (but only one work per composer will be include in the concerts). Works which last 8 minutes or less are preferred; no work should exceed 10 minutes.

How to apply:

All applications must be sent via DropBox (only as a « view », not as an « editor) or Google Drive in a single folder to the email: info [at] evimus [dot] de.

The application must fulfill the following requirements:

1. PDF, ODT or DOC with contact information, composer’s biography, nationality, date of birth and a description of the idea of your work (program notes).

2. Audio file .AIFF or .WAV format 16bit or 24bit at 44,1kHz sampling rate containing a stereo version of the piece (Category A or B),
or
video file .MOV (Category C),
or
PDF file with the score for instrument and electronic (Category B),
or
Documentation with Fotos, Video, Description, etc. (Category D)

3. Additionally, for multichannel pieces (Category A), send the audio files corresponding to each of the channels inside a separate folder (Audio file .AIFF or .WAV format 16bit or 24bit at 44,1kHz sampling rate).

Please do not send email file attachments.

On the « 4. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustiche und visuelle Musik » will also be room for discussions about the relation between music, technology and society. Everyone is welcome to participate. In order to organize these discussion-related sessions conveniently, everyone is welcome to submit papers with hypotheses, ideas or proposals. Also discussions of submitted works are appreciated.

JIM 2017 : Appel à œuvres électroacoustiques

Concours pour jeunes compositeurs (nés après le 31 décembre 1985), à ne pas rater. C’est pour les Journées d’Informatique Musicale (JIM), première conférence/colloque de l’informatique musicale en France / francophone.

Ils cherchent deux types de pièces:

1) la musique acousmatique sur support
2) la musique mixte : instrument(s) acoustique(s) avec électronique (en temps réel ou sur support fixe)

Il ne peut être présenté qu’une seule œuvre par catégorie (maximum 2 pièces par compositeur), d’une durée minimum de 5 minutes et n’excédant pas les 10 minutes.

Pour son premier spectacle dans la programmation du nouvel Espace K, l’ensemble HANATSU miroir proposera une sélection de pièces du répertoire de la musique d’aujourd’hui au cœur d’un dispositif scénique enveloppant. L’œil comme guide dans le labyrinthe des sons, un voyage au plus proche des formes et structures musicales sans cesse renouvelées et surprenantes.

Entre espaces poétiques du sonore et du visuel, HANATSU miroir présente depuis 5 ans une saison de découvertes de spectacles contemporains. La démarche propre à l’ensemble réunit plusieurs formes d’arts autour du répertoire de la musique contemporaine, se faisant ainsi exhausteur de sens,  révélateur de la pensée des compositeurs.

San Fedele Prize 2016 targeted for the first time in musicians / performers of the various fields of electronic music (from sound designers to soundscape, from DJs to audiovisual artists, from formations of Laptop Music to Communities of Live Coding or Network Music).

Through the Prize, the Cultural Foundation San Fedele in Milan intends to promote the production of new musical quality live performances, in various areas of electronic music (also with audiovisual interaction) in a half-year path from April to September 2016 to enable participants to gain musical, human, thoughtful and professional experience that will lead them to present the final work in the fall of 2016 in the context of the new festival of electronic music in the Auditorium San Fedele with Acusmonium Sator.
Participation in the San Fedele Prize is free.

Registration modality by email
The prize is open to young italian and international composer/performers residents in Europe born after the first of jounary 1981.The musicians must send by email before March 15, 2016 to: musicasanfedele@gmail.com:
 the application form, duly completed and signed, in pdf format;
• Audio File and / or audio-video filming or records of its significant production, the sending can be made by WeTransfer or Dropbox;
• a maximum of one page curriculum vitae;
• a catalog of the projects;
• a copy of valid identity papers (pdf or jpg).

 

Implementation of the competition and regulations
The selected candidates will participate in two residential meetings in Milan. The sessions are mandatory to participate in the Prize.

  • From 15 to 17 April 2016: Under the supervision of a visiting-professor, study and analysis of the topic of the Prize, presentation of candidates compositions and / or recent live performance, start of musical projects.
  • In a date of 2016 to be defined: a one-day meeting to assess the evolution of the musical project of each candidate in the presence of a visiting-professor.

PRIZE

The final Prize consists in the production of selected projects in the field of electronic music festival of San Fedele Music and the production of a DVD for the work of the winner and the second and third qualified. The whole initiative is entirely non-profit organization.

The Prize is also committed to promoting the works of the finalists at Radio, festivals and Italian musical associations and international.
N.B. Participation in the two phases is mandatory. The organization, in each case, will help authors/performers who live away from Milan, for travel and accommodation.
In case of cancellation of a musician/group, the Responsible shall be entitled to replace him in its discretion.
